Getting Connected

People don’t live in our city by accident. God sets everyone’s times and places, so ‘that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way towards him and find him’ (Acts 17.27). Right now God is in our city, drawing people to himself. Our privilege is to be involved in that same work – week after week, day after day.

This is why at CityChurch we do what we do: We want to help people find their way back to God.

Sunday is great, but church isn’t just about Sundays. If you wanted to, you could slip in and out unnoticed each week, but we believe Jesus intends more for His church than that and we want to help you be apart of it.

We believe that discipleship happens most effectively in the context of community and therefore want to encourage everyone who calls CityChurch their home to engage in our community life.

Are you interested in becoming a Christian? This may help you.

God Loves me!

The first thing you need to know is that God is crazy about you! His love for you is unlimited and completely unconditional. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more or less than He does right now. There is nothing that God wants more than to love and be loved by you.

Bible: Psalm 100:5, 1 John 3:16

I have sinned

Sadly we have been separated from God’s love by something the Bible calls sin. Simply put sin is when we choose to live for ourselves rather than God. We sin when we ignore God which causes us to then break his laws and basically go our own way. Sin also affects our relationship with our friends and family as well as God. The Bible says that sin ultimately brings death.

Bible: Isaiah 59:2, James 1:15

Jesus Died for me

The third point is probably one of the most well known facts in the history of mankind but is often misunderstood. The key is to realise that the penalty for sin is death. We have all sinned and we all deserve to die. But God, who is full of mercy, loved you so much that he sent Jesus to come and die in your place. Jesus died, so that we can have eternal life.

Bible: Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8

I need to decide to live for God

Not only did Jesus died for our sin, three days later he rose from the dead! Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has now made a way for us to have a relationship with God. All you need to do is accept you have sinned, asked for gods forgiveness and then decide to live the rest of your life only for him. The choice is yours.

Bible: John 14:6, 1 John 1:9
