What a great privilege it has been to serve along side of Simon Jarvis (ONEchurch), Jez Gledhill (Community Church), Ben Oliver (Elim Gloucester) and Steve Austin-Sparks (Kendal Road Baptist). I have to say that out of all the so-called unity prayer meetings I have ever been to, this week is right up there as one of the best.

Having the opportunity to focus on each church on each evening, hearing the visions and plans, and having the opportunity to stand with and pray for each church proactively was a very positive experience.

I was impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the churches during the week as each night, in spite of the snow and ice, the meetings were very well attended (140-170 each night).

What next? I am sure that many people are asking that question, as weeks like this will often increase hope. My response to that question is.

Prayer – Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance. Out of enthusiasm it is tempting to flood our church diaries with follow-up meetings. This won't happen initially, as firstit is important to gain God’s wisdom for the future.

  1. The Leaders – We are having a follow up meeting on the 22nd January to review the week and discuss the future.
  2. Support – We heard each church share what they are doing and what they aspire to do. Let us continue to support these activities by continuing to pray and show genuine interest by inquiring with each church as to how they are progressing.

Church, let us with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4)
