At CityChurch we are committed to bring Sunday morning teaching and preaching that is relevant, prophetic, and instructional, helping us develop our goals and aspirations. With this in mind we try to ensure that we have a clear and very purposeful strategy to each month, rather than having series of unrelated messages. This year we will continue with this approach.

1st Sunday of the month. We will focus on communion. As last year progressed our communion meetings developed from our focus being on communion with a short teaching to guide us, to a longer teaching with communion tacked on the end. I want us to return to a more communion-focused morning in an environment of worship and ministry.

2nd Sunday of each month. We are going to start a series on relationships, dealing with such issues as forgiveness, encouragement, handling disputes and friendship etc. This will, I hope, generate good discussion and application in our home groups.

3rd Sunday of the month. We are starting to look at the Holy Spirit. Pat Prosser handled the subject of “Who is the Holy Spirit” with real skill and anointing. (Podcast available here) We are also going to be looking at the following:

The Holy Spirit – The presence of God with His people

The Holy Spirit and the word

The Holy Spirit and the gospel

The Holy Spirit and the second coming of Jesus Christ.

4th Sunday of the month. We are continuing with our Ephesians season (Into it’s second year!) we are currently at the end of chapter 4

If there is a 5th Sunday in the month any God inspired subject will be brought.

Let us be sure, in the words of Tozer, that we "hear the word worthily." Which means that we approach each teaching enthusiastically with faith, seeking to not be just hearers of the word but also doers. Remember, if you know the truth the truth will make you free.
